My lovely watchers : Part VIII-bHello and Happy New Year everyone!
As fore mentioned in part one (or I guess it's technically part a) of my 2013 +watcher journal art features, I have split the (past) year's feature into a few parts. So to start the year off right, I would like to thank everyone who has had a stroke of fortunate insanity and decided to follow my gallery, and would like to continue my 2013 +watcher feature of some amazing art from their amazing galleries! It was an amazing journey through these galleries and I hope many others will love my findings as much as I did.

My lovely watchers : Part VIII-aHi everyone!
This year, in regard to DeviantArt, I am thankful for everyone who has ever commented, +favorited, or even just looked at my art, so I'm starting my annual feature for those who +watch my art on this year's Thanksgiving day. (while I work on this food coma XD)
I am especially thankful for receiving Daily Deviations on two of my pieces this year! That's still really hard for me to believe, but it explains why I have to split 2013's +watcher feature into a few parts so that it's fair for everyone. I'm so abundantly thankful to have received those DD's and, if it's even possible to imagine, even more grateful to have people who enjoy my art enough to follow my account. Thus, without further ado, please enjoy this feature (part 1) of some of the lovely people who had a stroke of fortunate insanity and decided to follow my gallery this past year. It was an amazing journey through these galleries and I hope many others will love my findings as much
even when you are feeling deeplyI received a Daily Deviation! It is on this piece:
Thank you so much JeanneyLost for suggesting it and astridle for featuring it!
And thank you everyone who added it to their +favorites! It really was a great surprise to log in and find! ♥
If you are curious to know, it was inspired by an excerpt from Island by Aldous Huxley:
"It's dark because you're trying too hard. Lightly, child, lightly. You've got to learn to do everything lightly. Think lightly, act lightly, feel lightly. Yes, feel lightly, even though you're feeling deeply. Just lightly let things happen and lightly cope with them. Lightly, lightly -- it was the best advice ever given me. Throw away all your baggage and go forward. There are quicksands all about you, sucking at your feet, trying to suck you down into fear and self-pity and despair. That's why you must walk so lightly. Lightly, my darling
this is an art featureWow, I sign on to dA to suddenly find it looks much more cluttered than I remember. My signature thing is looking pretty awful too. I don't find the idea of revamping with symbols appalling, but I do have 2 major problems: You don't have to add a symbol to external links, and There should be happy symbols for non-premium members too. Doesn't seem fair --they could have smiley faces or something: I think that'd be fun and happy.
Anyway, if you're tired of looking at bulky symbols, I encourage you to look at these beautiful pieces made by beautiful artists instead.

Basic CSS Style GuideIntroduction
CSS is a style language used to define the style and formatting of web pages. It is used in conjunction with HTML.
If we think of HTML as the building blocks of the web then, essentially, CSS is the painter and decorator. Very simply, HTML defines the structure of the page and CSS defines the style.
What I'll be helping you with here is getting to grips with the basics of CSS. I'll be explaining how use CSS as well as providing a number of examples that you can use to style your own web pages and journals. All you need to do is copy/paste the code and replace the sample text with your own content. Along with the quick reference I've also written a brief glossary of terms and provided a list of useful links in case you wish to do some further reading.
A point of note is that while the information and examples I've given here apply to CSS use anywhere on the web, this guide itself is geared towards the use of CSS on deviantART. As such, and given that this h

Manip AcademyIntroducing a new project!
Manip Academy (thanks, cristii, for inspiration for the name) is a new photomanipulation project inspired by projecteducate. We all love to learn, and we learn best from one another. Here's our chance to share what we know.
Manip Academy is an education initiative designed to spread the knowledge and the love. It is a collaboration between CRPhotomanipulation and we-HEART-photomanip. We will share tips and tricks for photomanipulation success. It is difficult to write tutorials, but anyone can write a simple tip or describe how they achieved a specific effect.
This project will feature two weekly articles written by the community every week, on Mondays and Thursdays. This will be an ongoing project within our community, and we hope that many people will take advantage of the chance to sign up to submit one blog or even just a few sentences to help the community.

Ten Portrait Photography TipsPeople & Portrait Photography
Check your Angles
Avoid unflattering angles, don't frame your model with their arms or legs chopped off unless it works for the image. If in doubt, fully frame them and do the chopping afterwards in post-processing! Don't forget to check that the tops of their heads and their feet are in focus. Missing feet are disconcerting!
Be the Director
As the Photographer, most people will be looking to you for direction. There's no time to be shy when you're behind the camera! Keep calm to help your model remain relaxed but make sure they're not made to feel awkward if you lack giving instruction. Pose them well, avoid direct bright sunlight and check out your background.
Eye contact...or not
Eye contact isn't always necessary, in fact candid journalistic style photographs often work best. Your subject doesn't have to be looking directly at the camera for it to be a successful shoot, but yo
returning madness about madness returnshello dear friends and watchers; I hope you're doing well.
sorry I've been somewhat spamming your inboxes lately, with many of them being American McGee's Alice - inspired: I attended my second convention ever (Anime USA) this past weekend and cosplayed for the first time as, yes:
Alice in Madness Returns.
so I'm having a second bout of madness for the game and thought I'd find some lovely mad things to share with you guys.
