Because it's the only finger with a vein that leads straight to the heart, right? It's the only one where you've drawn a vein instead of a artery, too.

Yeah I don't think it's biologically correct, seeing as all your fingers have veins that lead back to your heart. However, before we had the science to know this, people did believe there was a vein that ran directly from the fourth finger to the heart, so even after they discovered it wasn't true they still kept the ritual with wedding rings on the ring finger (in Western culture anyway, I think).
