Wow! Just the sheer creativity and emotion in this single piece is astounding! The colors merge beautifully, and I must say from looking at many other pieces you've done, you have a great sense of unity, color, and creativity. Your idea is original and there is a plethora of themes and emotion to admire! My only gripes are that the image seems a bit chaotic as you scan the top, and you lose sense of what is being portrayed. Also, your lines seemed a bit too thick at times, but know that I am just being picky with these criticisms, for you certainly have amazing artistic talent. Overall, it is a wonderful piece that deserves a lot more attention than it is getting. On top of that, the fact that this is a gift is even more surprising and pleasing to hear, because it is an amazing painting that anyone would be humbled by. I am sure he is amazed with the work you've created!

I noticed Totoro and his little friends there and I can only applaud the way you combined this, with the word forest and the present to your friend.

I also looked at the detailed view. It looks wonderful. I hope he enjoyed it. :aww: I certainly would :blush:

he almost didn't even notice them at first, but when he did he was even happier. I feel I didn't have much time to enjoy with my piece: I finished it the day before I was to hang out to give it to him, and hardly had time to even document it. also, I had to bear it home with me in the rain; that was quite a journey...

I think he enjoyed it. and when I tagged him in it on facebook, one of his best friends kept saying "WHOOAAAAAAAAAA" :lol:
