The vivid colors are in contrast with the expression of her face. As if to suggest that no matter how colorful you'd dress, this won't make you happier. Your hair drawing style is highly original and completely unseen (at least by me) and I think you manage to suggest a lot of things with it. I also enjoy the proportions you gave her: it make her look more like a symbol for an idea than like a portrait of somebody. It requires skill to be able to play with drawings like that.
oh wow, you have so much praise for me, dear. truthfully, I think you read a little too much into this piece: the only things I had in mind were 1. I want to draw some really intricate blue hair; 2. I want color; 3. I want to make a style I've never seen before.
I'm glad you think this style is original; I definitely hope to make more such portraits, so hopefully I'll find some time in the near future, since these pieces take, oh, ...14-ish hours completely?
This is beautiful. The hair is so well done and the composition is very interesting. Before I read the description or title I was thinking marge simpson. Brilliant idea and awesome work.

I look forward to the next ones
