Lifelines: Signs of static and sound . x by sophiaazhou Lifelines: Signs of static and sound . x by sophiaazhou

more things I've neglected to post. another story;

part xiv

but there's more on my website!
(there's always more on my website...)

I'll be honest:
this story was quite a bit less pre-meditated than "(v)icar(io)us" and "Anthea & The Messenger" and
errs more on the side of technique experimentation.

but I still like the resulting narrative, so I hope you guys do too.

(minor contrast adjustments; otherwise, all remains as-is from the initial capture)

The title and concept are good. I like the idea of suggesting the ups and downs in life through such a lifeline idea. But the image in itself seems a bit too simple and lacks a strong subject which would go with the title.

I can't exactly put my finger on what this piece is missing, but it's perhaps the amplitude of the lifeline or its proportion in comparision with the rest of the image or simply its distribution in the space of the image. :shrug:

However, as a whole, I consider the concept and realization good. I'm looking forward to your next deviations :)

you have to keep in mind this is just a fraction of the whole photo story, which I didn't post in its entirety in my deviantArt gallery because it could never be presented the way I want here.
but I don't know if that would change your perceptions; you'll have to let me know. :]

I know, I saw the story on your webpage. It looks better like that, because it gives the impression of continuity and lets the viewer merge with it, but I still think that the lifelines aren't spatial enough ...

it makes sense: the story was spur of the moment, rather than thought-out like the other two.

Yes, I remember you telling me that. :)
